Eileen Blood has been involved with sewing as far back as she can remember. She makes clothes, knitted sweaters and sewn home furnishings.
She says "About 17 years ago I became interested in Patchwork/Quilting & Appliqué and, at that time, as I was working for a leading sewing machine company, I had first hand experience of the new domestic embroidery machines that were becoming available for home use. I was, and still continue to be, fascinated with these machines and what they will do."
"Around this time I also went to college and gained qualifications to allow me to teach adults. For many years I taught machine knitting and dressmaking in Further Education. I still teach freelance in Patchwork, Quilting and Appliqué."
"Now that I work for myself I have the time to pursue my own interests in the sewing department, and in 2005 I came up with the idea of allowing my embroidery machine to do a lot of the tedious work for me as far as appliqué was concerned. I started writing and selling patterns in January 2008."
